Taking into account the cramped nature ofthe spacecraft, designers realized that rounded edgeswould be less likely to injure the astronauts as theyinevitably bumped into things.All the electrical outlets are intelligent and can pre-vent errors. If an astronaut accident inserts the wrongplug, the socket will reject it.In order to accommodate astronauts wearinggloves, all the spacecraft's buttons and switches arelarger than those on the ground and the space be-tween them wider as well. Buttons are also designednot to be too smooth so that gloves don't slip offofthem on contact. Buttons of unrelated function aregenerally placed far apart to prevent mishaps.
