前言

　　根据全国大学英语教学改革的指导思想，大学英语教学要注重听和说，而全国大学英语四六级考试也将实施网考，网考在测试项目和内容方面将有重大的调整和变化。最明显的变化是加大了英语视听在考试中的比例，从原来的35％增加到50％，以上。因此，不管是从大学英语教学要求，还是从四六级考试内容比例调整的角度上来看，英语视听都有着举足轻重的作用。　　本书为《走向成功英语听力教程》的姐妹篇，可作为学生英语视听说自学材料，同时也可以作为全国大学英语四六级网考专训教材。全书分16单元，每单元由五个部分组成。第一部分（Time to Watch）话题入门，旨在激发学生已有的相关知识。第二部分（Time to Listen）让学生熟悉英语国家人们讲英语的不同语音语调。第三部分（Time to Speak）根据上面两部分的内容，进行口语操练，模仿原汁原味的英语表达，拓宽自身的表达思路。第四部分（Time to Enjoy）是正常语速的英语视频，帮助学生熟悉和听懂视频中的英语表达。第五部分（Home Listening）类似于网考中的中篇对话。　　英语视听的提高在于不问断地训练和实践。此书作为视听说教程，为学生课内课外学习英语，尤其是为训练视听创造了条件。除视听说材料外，每单元都配有词汇注释和视听练习，目的在于帮助学生掌握视听技能，在看和听之前学会预测信息，在视听过程中学会记录关键信息。学生通过全课程的学习和操练，不仅能够熟悉和听懂不同国家人们讲英语的口音，而且能够大大提高英语视听的能力。　　此书内容丰富，题材新颖，话题贴近学生生活，单元安排循序渐进。视听说内容涉及校园生活、饕餮美食、保健运动、旅游天地、社交活动等。此外全书配有清晰的课件光盘、视听练习答案以及相应的视听材料原文。　　本书由华东理工大学继续教育学院组织编写，该校外国语学院戚元方、张新、楼燕斐和张杰编写。囿于作者水平，编写时间仓促，书中肯定会有疏忽和错误之处，敬请广大读者和英语同仁批评指正。
