内容概要

根据教育部规定，中央广播电视大学“开放教育”本科层次学历教育的学生与现代远程教育试点高校网络教育学院的学生必须参加部分公共课的全国统一考试。“大学英语(A)”是本科英语专业学生必考的英语课程，本书专为应考的学生提供考前有效的热身训练与有针对性的指导。    根据教育部网考办颁布的最新的“大学英语(A)考试大纲”(2007年修订版)，“大学英语(A)”从2008年起全部采用机考的形式，考试时间为90分钟，试卷结构与题型如下：    第一部分阅读理解该部分占试卷总分的30％，含2篇短文，共10个小题，每题3分。主要考核学生理解主旨要义，查找具体信息，根据上下文推测词义及概括和推断能力。    第二部分  词汇与结构该部分占试卷总分的20％，共10个多项选择题，每题2分。主要考核学生对基本语法和常用词汇的掌握及运用能力。    第三部分  完型填空该部分占试卷总分的20％，含l篇短文，共10个多项选择小题，每题2分。主要考核学生对词汇、句法和篇章知识的掌握及综合运用能力。    第四部分汉译英  该部分占试卷总分的l0％，共2个小题，每题5分。主要考核学生的单句翻译能力，要求学生将2个中文句子翻译成英文，做到译文通顺、达意。    第五部分  写作该部分占试卷总分的20％，要求学生根据命题写出一篇不少于150词的短文。主要考核学生的短文写作能力，是对学生书面表达能力的全面考查。    本书由两部分构成：第一部分为专项练习，第二部分为仿真自测。第一部分介绍了各类题型的应试技巧，并提供了相应的专项练习，学生可以根据自身的学习需要，分项进行强化练习，固本培元。第二部分提供了20套完整的仿真自测试题，供学生平时练习使用，学生可限时逐套完成，以便不断提高应试能力与英语运用水平。专项练习与仿真自测试题之后均附有答案与题解，帮助学生进行自我检测，自我解决疑惑，查找学习中的漏洞与不足。    本书配有CD—ROM学习光盘。CD—ROM学习光盘是对本书内容的．支持与扩展，主要由三大板块构成：第一板块为单项训练，提供基于各类题型的专项练习；第二板块为仿真自测，提供20套完整的仿真自测试题；第三板块为随机组题，由光盘随机组题，供学生自测训练。三大板块的练习均提供及时反馈，其中第二板块的20套仿真自测试题完全在模拟机考的环境下进行，要求学生在限定的90分钟内完成。另外，光盘中特别嵌入了指导教师的角色，指导教师通过视频提供应试指导。

　　The greatest recent social changes have been in the lives of women. During the twentieth centurythere has been a remarkable shortening of the time of a womans life spent in caring for children. In theWest a woman marrying at the end of the nineteenth century would probably have been in her middletwenties, and would be likely to have seven or eight children, of whom four or five lived till they werefive years old. By the time the youngest was fifteen, the mother would have been in her early fifties andwould expect to live a further twenty years, during which health made it unusual for her to get paidwork. Today women marry younger and have fewer children. Usually a womans youngest child will befifteen when she is forty-five and can be expected to live another thirty-five years and is likely to takepaid work until retirement at sixty. Even while she has to take care of children, her work is lightened bymodern living conditions.　　This important change in womens life-pattern has only recently begun to have its full effect onwomens economic position. Even a few years ago most girls left schools at the first chance, and most ofthem took a full-time job. However, when they married, they usually left work at once and neverreturned to it. Today the school-leaving age is sixteen; many girls stay at school after that age, andthough women usually marry younger, more married women stay at least until shortly before their firstchild is born. Very many more afterwards return to full or part-time work. Such chadges have led to anew relationship in marriage, with the husband accepting a greater share of the duties and satisfactionsof family life, and with both husband and wife sharing more equally in providing the money, andrunning the home, according to the abilities and interests of each of them.
