Born more than two thousand years ago, Chinese porcelain is one of
the most symbolic signs of Chinese Culture. During an age-long
evolution, along with the glossy and elegant appearance as well as
the unadorned art style, Chinese porcelain is also permeated with
Chinese philosophies, values and tastes for beauty, with the
creation of comely and delicate celadon, the pure and jade-like
white porcelain, the graceful and tranquil Blue-and-White (Qing
Hua) porcelain, the magnificent and sumptuous polychrome painted
porcelain and etc. This book introduces Chinese porcelain's
evolution, firing techniques, vessel shape, glaze color and
ornament. We hope that this book will help the readers to get a
closer look at porcelain and appreciate its unique charm.

版权页：插图：Among all the censers made in theHan Dynasty（206 B.C.-220 A.D.），theBoshan censer was the mostly commonlyseen.Based on the legend that therewere three divine mountains at Penglai（Penglai is a legendary place inhabitedby the Taoist immortals.）of the EastChina Sea，the censer lid was shaped inthe form of clouded mountain with peaksrising one after another and inhabited bycelestial beings.Especially when incensewas burning，threads of smoke，slowand light，floated out of the holes of thelid，creating a Taoist paradise.The SongDynasty（960-1 279）saw one kind ofYaozhou Kiln censer，resembling the teacup in shape，covered by a hollowed-outlid，supported by a human-image stemand a wall full of incised patterns，whichcould be rated as the choicest product.Inthe Northern Song Dynasty，the Ge（Geis a cooking tripod with hollow legs.）censer fired in the official kilns（GuanKilns）was an imitation of the bronzeGe made in the Shang Dynasty（1 600B.C.-1046 B.C.）and Zhou Dynasty（1046 B.C.-771 B.C）.This kind of censerwas especially designed as royal altarvessel or for display.

•   我喜欢这套书的创意，虽深度虽不够，但英汉双语还是很吸引人的！
•   介绍的比较浅，因该是给外国人或者初接触瓷器的人看的书。中英文对照，在需要英文情况下可用。图文并茂，其中一些瓷器的图片很好，就是为了图片而买的。纸张印刷虽比不上杂志，但质感厚实，也算不错。
•   了解瓷器，这本书就很好！
