内容概要

  《鲁宾逊漂流记》的作者丹尼尔·笛福(1660—1731)是18世纪英国小说家。他年青时干过各种行业,到过欧洲大陆许多国家,四处冒险给他带来了荣誉、名声、金钱和地位,但也让他几度饱尝铁窗之苦。几经起伏之后,笛福厌倦了政治和金钱,在年近六十岁时,他以苏格兰水手亚历山大·赛尔柯尔在荒岛独居四年的真实经历为原型,创作了小说《鲁宾逊漂流记》,并大获成功。鲁宾逊是一个英国年青人,他热爱航海,向往新世界。在一次出海中,船只遭遇暴风雨,同伴均遇难,只有他一人漂流到大海中的一座孤岛上。这里没有人烟、没有屋舍、没有基本的生活用品……
鲁宾逊凭借着从废船上收集的一些食物、工具和枪支弹药,开始了荒岛生活。他搭建房屋、储存弹药、制作农具、培育农作物、制作面包和干果、圈养山羊,经历了地震、恶劣气候和疾病的考验……他不断地从生存中汲取教训、积累经验,并寻找乐趣。闭锁孤岛,鲁宾逊感到孤独无助,有时像个孩子一样大哭,但转念一想,自己健康、安全,整天忙忙碌碌,又何尝不是一种幸福?他甚至养了一只鹦鹉作宠物,并教会了它说话!当然,岛上的日子也不永远是平静的。一天,鲁宾逊忽然在海滩上发现了一个大脚印!从这个脚印开始,接下来风波迭起……鲁宾逊会有怎样的遭遇?他最终有没有离开孤岛,回到故乡呢?

作者简介

  丹尼尔·笛福(Daniel·Defoe
1660—1731),英国作家,新闻记者。英国启蒙时期现实主义小说的奠基人,被誉为“英国和欧洲小说之父”。其作品可读性强,主要构架为:主人公个人通过努力,靠智慧和勇敢战胜困难,表现了当时追求冒险,倡导个人奋斗的社会风气。其代表作《鲁滨逊漂流记》,创造了与困难抗争的典型人物鲁滨逊。

  As we sailed there, another storm drove the ship westward.Every moment, we thought the ship would sink. Again, wedid not know where we were. We were lost. After severaldays of this, one of the men saw land. Before we could seeanything else, the ship hit a sand bar and stopped. The seacame over the ship and began to break it. We preparedourselves to die. Some of the men managed to put our smallboat into the sea, and we all got into it. The wind blewthe waves very high, but it also blew us toward the shore.We were certain that the big waves would smash the boaton the shore.  Suddenly, an even larger wave turned the boat upsidedown, and we all fell into the wild sea. The wave carriedme toward the land. I could not breathe. I thought I woulddie. Then, I felt sand under my feet. I tried to stand up. Igot some air. I stood and walked forward. Another waveknocked me down again and drove me forward. I wasterrified. I did not know which way was up. I could not breathe. The wave carried me for a long time. My head came out of the water and into the air. I breathed. Suddenly, my body hit a rock. It hurt me, but I hung onto it. The wave went back. The next wave carried me forward again. At last, I was able to climb out of the water. I sat on the beach.  I was glad to be alive because I was certain that I wasgoing to die in the waves. I stood up and walked about. Ihoped that some of the other men were safe, too, but theywere not. I never saw any of them again. They had alldrowned. I found three hats and two shoes, but that wasall. I looked at the ship. It seemed a long way away. Iwondered how I had got to the shore.  What would happen to me now? I was wet and cold. Ihad no food or water. I did not know where I was. WouldI be eaten by wild animals? Would I be killed by savagepeople? Would I die of hunger and thirst? I did not know.  It was beginning to grow dark. I needed water. Luckily,I found a small stream a few hundred meters from the beach.Then, I climbed into a tree so that no wild animals wouldfind me, and fell asleep.  When I woke up, it was day. The storm had stopped. Iwas very surprised to see that the ship was now quite closeto the shore. The tide had lifted it from the sand bar, and thewaves had driven it closer to the land. ! walked along thebeach and found the boat lying on the sand a few kilometersaway. However, I could not reach it because there was alarge inlet of water between me and it.  I went back toward the ship and found that the tide hadgone out. I could walk almost right up to the ship. I realizedthat if we had stayed on board we would all be alive. Thismade me very sad. Why was I the only one alive?  There was no answer to this question. I decided to tryand get onto the ship and see if I could find some usefulthings. I swam to the ship and climbed onto it. I found somefood and drink. I threw some large pieces of wood intothe water and tied them together to make a raft. I put alot of wood on the raft and then some boxes, which Ifilled with food. I had some bread, some rice, and somecheese. I got some dried goat meat and some corn as well.Then, I got some clothes, and I found the carpenter's tools.These tools were worth more than gold to me. Then, Ialso got some guns and gunpowder and two old swords. Ibrought all these onto the raft and back to the beach. Someof the boxes almost fell into the water, but I saved themand finally got everything onto the shore safely.  As soon as I could, I climbed up a hill that was nearbyto see where I was. Was I on a continent or an island? Werethere people? Were there wild animals? From the top ofthe hill, I could see that I was on an island. The sea wasall around me, and I could see no other land. I saw no signof people on the island, nor any wild animals. There werea lot of birds, but 1 did not know what type of birds theywere. I shot a large bird, but its meat was terrible. I couldnot eat it.  I returned to the raft and made a small hut with the woodI got from the ship. It was not very strong, but I was afraidof wild animals attacking me during the night. It was almostlow fide again, so I swam back to the ship and brought backanother raft of valuable things. I got some nails and axesand a grindstone to keep the axes sharp. I also got some ironbars, a lot of clothes, and some more guns. I found a sailand a hammock. I made a new raft and brought everythingto shore. When I returned, I saw an animal like a cat sittingon one of the boxes. It was not afraid of me. I gave it somefood. It ate the food and walked into the forest.  ……
