作者简介

克利福德·E·兰德斯(Clifford E．Landers)是新泽西城市大学教授，美国翻译协会文学部主任。他译有15部长篇小说和大量短篇小说(葡译英)，1999年和2004年两度荣获马里奥-费雷拉翻译奖。

•   虽然作者是一位葡译英的翻译家，然而道理讲得很实在，没有说教的理论，有的只是一位译者的语重心长！
•   虽是MTI的指定教材，但感觉一般，而且，寄来的时候封皮有损坏！感觉当当比以前发货慢了！
•   这本书是外教社引进的原版教材，本教材以实用为主，摒弃艰深理论，是本文学翻译的指导用书，但是本书有一点点小缺陷，这个缺陷是由于读者不懂葡萄牙语，有的举例读者只能通过读作者的英语译文来看，有些葡萄牙语的一些euphemism,pun,alieration我们无法从葡萄牙语中体会到，建议读者在购买本书的同时，购买外研社的高级文学翻译一书。最近购买了外研社出版的高级文学翻译，读了一点，书上的观点基本上跟外教社的书上的观点一致。同时买外研社和外教社的书可以说是互补的看，买一本也是可以指导文学翻译的。只是我的文学水平不好，够不上文学翻译的水平，也没有考过翻译硕士，读书只为自娱自乐尔。

•   书的质量非常不错，价格便宜。是初入译界的学员的极好教材。对于亚马逊提供的购书服务，个人一直非常推崇，但此次购书被芝麻开门快递搞得心情郁闷。原本今天订书次日收货的格局被芝麻开门的一次误投给打乱了。我在跟踪包裹时及时发现了这个问题，马上提醒他们发错了地方，结果这个错误居然需要四天时间来纠正。希望亚马逊可以对快递公司施加一定的压力，毕竟也在一定的程度上影响到亚马逊的购物体验。
•   非常优秀的翻译实践入门教材。虽然作者本人是葡萄牙语-英语翻译，里面举的很多例子也是从葡萄牙语或者法语译到英语，但是作者的关于文学翻译的整体理念值得所有语种的译者借鉴。另外很重要的一点是，作者通过本书给了文学翻译初学者很大的鼓励，他像个良师益友，帮助我们想清楚为什么要做文学翻译、遇到困难时该如何坚持下去。他的那句警言Perfect always remains the enemy of good.已经成为了我的座右铭，一直写在我的案头。
