　　《高中英语小品与课本剧（高2年级）》提供适用于高中学生的英语小品、课本剧32种，按难易程度分上下2册。建议一个学期选用6则左右。每一册的小品、课本剧由3个品种组成：欧美古典小说改编，中国古典故事改编，现代生活片段。　　《高中英语小品与课本剧（高2年级）》小品及课本剧不一定是现行教材的注释或改写。但是在话题（topic）范围上，在语言材料水平上则依据“课程标准”，并以此来保证《高中英语小品与课本剧（高2年级）》“不超纲”的原则。　　“小品”是个模糊的称呼。相声、电话热线、活报剧都归属于此。课本剧实质上是独幕剧。但无论小品还是课本剧，基本上都有戏剧元素：人物（character），背景（setting），情节（plot）以及高潮（highlight）。在道具及服装上允许因地制宜，表演者可以根据现成条件自行定夺。每则小品（课本剧）耗时长度最长不会超过15分钟。剧中台词甚至允许小部分的即兴增添（improviser）。
