　　Passage 1　　When Ben Franklin was only a boy, he always wanted to know about other things. He always asked his father and brothers so many "What?" "How?" and "Why?"　　They couldnt always answer him what he wanted to know.　　When they couldnt tell him, Ben tried to find out the answers" by himself.　　Many times Ben did find out the facts that no one knew before. The other boys would say,"Ben Franklin! He s always finding out something new!"　　Ben lived close to the river. He liked to go there to see the boats. He saw how the wind blew them across the river.　　One day Ben said to himself, " Why cant the wind help me float across the water? And Im going to fly. " Ben made a big kite and took hold of the kites string and flew it. The wind took the kite up into the sky. Then Ben jumped into the water.　　The wind blew the kite high into the sky. Ben began to float across the river. Soon he was on the other side.　　One boy shouted,"Look at Ben floating across the river!
