　　《超越的可能：作为知识分子的乔叟》从“知识分子”的视角，以知识分子的社会功能和智慧品质为线索，将“英国诗歌之父”乔叟置于古今中外各种参照系里，结合文学文本分析和对中世纪英国社会、政治、性别和文化状况的追溯，探讨乔叟文学创作与历史语境的互动关系，解读诗人文本策略的社会意义，揭示乔叟不仅具备广义知识分子的博学和智慧，更在某种程度上，扮演了现代知识分子的社会批评者和大众启蒙者的角色，藉此论证乔叟具有超越其时代的现代性，反观当代知识分子研究的局限性。

作者简介

　　丁建宁 1967年生，华东师范大学文学博士。现为南京师范大学外国语学院英语系副主任，副教授，硕士研究生导师。主要研究兴趣为中世纪英语文学、英国现当代文学和英语教育。
