《飘》是一部取材于美国南北战争和战后重建的小说，书名直译应为“随风飘逝”，它出自书中女主人公思嘉之口，大意是说那场战争像飓风一般卷走了她的“整个世界”，她家的农场也“随风飘逝”了。思嘉以这一短语抒发了南方农场主的思想感情，作者用来作为书名，也表明了她对南北战争的观点，这与本书内容是完全一致的。     本书为《世界名著佳段阅读》丛书之一。
