前言

　　随着国家对中等职业教育的高度重视，为了适应教育教学改革的需要，进一步推动教育教学改革的深入发展，帮助中等职业学校学生更为科学、扎实、全面地掌握教材讲授的内容，我们组织了一些多年从事一线教育，具有丰富教学经验的优秀教师，依据教育部最新颁布的教学大纲编写了本书。我们在编写过程中力求做到：　　本书对学生在学习中可能会碰到的重点和难点都做了详尽的分析，独到新颖的选材也给学生注入了新的学习兴趣。　　为了使学生在复习过程中有一个明确的思路，在编写本书时，我们严格遵照大纲要求设计了以下3个板块，即　　前两大板块对基础知识、重点难点进行了详尽的讲解，第三版块的单元练习使学生可以巩固教材知识，并拓展知识面。在每个单元的前面配以意味隽永的名人名言，这不仅能够使学生在学习中领悟人生哲理，而且还真正达到了使学习逐渐成为一种享受的共同愿望。

内容概要

　　Living in big cities are not quite different in many parts of the world. The same can not be said about living on farms.　　In China， farmers and their families live in villages or towns near which are the fields that they cultivate. Farmers come to the fields before the sunrise and after the sunset. They usually go to a fair every other a few days. However， farmers in America are different from those in China. Each farm family lives on its own fields， often beyond the sight of any neighbours. They stay on their fields throughout the week. They travel to the nearest town on Saturdays for shopping or on Sundays for church.　　Of course， today life keeps changing for everyone， including farmers in China and America. They have cars， good roads， radios， television sets and modern machines for farming.All of these have changed farm life.
